Interconnection Study
Definition
Interconnection study is a set of engineering study which is aimed to ensure that the interconnection of plants from new and renewable energy to utility grid can be performed safely without generate interferences that may impose negative impact on grid reliability and power quality.
CBS Engineering provides interconnection study as its one of main services in engineering. We have been involved in carrying out interconnection studies for Solar PV Power Plants in some locations across Kalimantan and Sumatera Islands.
Scope of Work
Interconnection Feasibility Study
Interconnection Feasibility Study is intended to assess the technical aspects of plants from new and renewable energy should they are in compliance with the available technical standards and codes. It is including a preliminary identification of potential negative impact contributed to the grid.
Distribution System Impact Study
Distribution System Impact Study takes on the electrical power analysis which cover power flow analysis, short circuit analysis, coordination protection analysis, and transient analysis. We conduct the study by employing assessments and identification on existing grid. This includes the real-time simulation of whole power system.
Interconnection Facility Study
Interconnection Facility Study includes the identification of additional components required for the interconnection based on two previous studies. We at best provide inputs in perspective of cost and scheduling from price estimation to project milestones. We also provide guidance that will bridge our clients with other stakeholders involved such as local government and PT PLN (Persero).
We strive to provide our clients best services that will be reflected in the scope of works offered and comprehensive study reports. We conduct the study by elaborating opportunities, problems, and challenges in accordance with regulations, guidance, and standards set out by PT PLN (Persero) as national utility enterprise.
